Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, also known professionally under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist signing for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. It was here that she was recognized. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 as she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the calendar, her songs circulated throughout Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had contracted with Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. The singer released Pho, her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. In November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. They then teamed up in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26, 2019, for her debut album the same title. The track was made available with a video on YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than 3 million times within the first seven days. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
